The 17th Edition of the Judicial College 'Guidelines for the Assessment of General Damages in Personal Injury Cases' is due to be published on Friday 5 April 2024.

The new Edition shall feature updated brackets to take into account the rise in inflation since the previous (16th) Edition was published in April 2022. That Edition was based on RPI inflation figures up until September 2021.

The book has become an important practitioner text in the field of personal injury law. The upcoming 17th Edition considers a handful of recent cases concerning damages for sexual abuse (which falls within Chapter 4), including damages psychiatric harm arising from image-based abuse.
